Bournemouth / Salisbury in 50 Buildings

Hugely excited to announce that after working with authors for 10 years, I have finally been published myself! I have co-authored 2 books called ‘Bournemouth in 50 Buildings’ and ‘Salisbury in 50 Buildings’which were commissioned by Amberley Books.

The books feature 50 of the buildings we considered best tell the story of the towns. My co-author is the phenomenal Paul Rabbitts, landscape architect, the UK’s leading expert on Bandstands, Parks historian & prolific author and speaker. He has also written a number of other books in the 50 Buildings series.

I

I met Paul in 2012 when I was working on the national Bandstand Marathon project which was part of the Cultural Olympiad and Paul was brought in as a consultant. I’m very honoured to be currently working with him on ‘Christchurch in50 Buildings’ with plans for  Dorchester and Bridport.

  1. Hi, I think the photo on page 22 of the book is the small water tower in the Central Gardens and not the one in Seafield Gardens. The latter is much larger.
I’m sure I’m not the first person to spot this.

    1. Hello Stephen

First of all apologies for not responding sooner – I didn’t get a notification that you had left a comment.

You are, of course, quite correct about the Water Tower and thank you for bringing it to our attention. Unfortunately, this was not one of our images – it was one we bought in and wasn’t picked up in the edit.

I hope it hasn’t spoiled your enjoyment of the book.

      Kind regards.

      Liz
